When the World Is Dreaming | Little Lit Book Series

A lovely post from @teeandpenguin.

If you've been looking for a sweet new read to add to your bedtime repertoire then this is it. This book offers a peek into the world of woodland animals through the eyes of a little girl.

We follow along as she explores the beauty of her natural surroundings and asks what each little animal dreams of after busy days of slithering, grazing, crawling and basking. As each animal drifts off to dreamland, we see their dreams come to life through gentle rhymes and soft water colored illustrations. Ordinary dreams would not do for this lot so we are treated to more fanciful ones that include flying rabbits, giant mushrooms and a sky turtle who plays hide and seek with the moon. This is one of those books that encourages the reader to slow down and be enveloped by the calm. Recommended for ages 4-7.

When the World Is Dreaming is by Rita Gray and Kenard Pak and is published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
