Mary Garber was born loving sports. She also found that writing came naturally to her. As a kid, she started her own newspaper. She eventually set her sights on becoming a sportswriter and endured "her own share of slights and struggles" including not being allowed in the press box at college football games because she was a woman. She persisted, worked hard"with steady determination" and gained respect from coaches, athletes and readers. She led an incredible career, won many awards, had a lasting positive impact on the lives of many young athletes and paved the way for other female sports reporters. Miss Mary Reporting is a fantastic, engaging account of her life and her legacy as a sportswriter.
